In celebration of National Coffee Day, Buttercream Cupcakes & Coffee (“Buttercream”), the Coral Gables – based “treatery,” will pump sass into the morning step with free cups of fresh-brewed 100% Colombian coffee for caffeine lovers. Just one of the many selections available from this specialty coffee bar, Buttercream offers a wide assortment of specialty drinks including cappuccinos, lattes, frosted coffees and handcrafted Mighty Leaf herbal teas.
Offering just enough gourmet with a fraction of the guilt, top off the morning’s java with a selection of 18 different homemade cupcakes ($2.75 each), minis ($1.50) and frosting shots ($0.75). Coffee drinkers alike are encouraged to indulge in something sweet and lift their mug to offer a hearty salute to National Coffee Day – Tuesday, September 29, 2009.
ABOUT BUTTERCREAM CUPCAKES & COFFEE
Buttercream Cupcakes & Coffee is the creation of husband and wife duo Jose F. Cuellar and Kristine Graulich. The coffee and cupcake sweet shop, which opened in February 2008, offers curbside coffee morning service (until 11a.m.) as well as offsite catering for weddings, birthdays, corporate events and other special occasions. The bakery/brew house is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon - 9 p.m.
Chef Joe Randall will host a Southern cooking grilling class, designed to provide grilling tips and techniques at Loudoun Valley Vineyards, Waterford, VA. The gourmet getaway class will allow participants to learn about pairing the winery's remarkable array of wines with some of Chef Randall's authentic Southern cuisine. Chef Randall who is featured among the top 50 chefs in Joe David's book Gourmet Getaways won praise for the irresistibly spicy flavors of his Sweet Potato and Smoked Sausage Bisque he served to a sold-out Five Chefs Dinner at the National Press Club in April. The secret to the success of his bisque, he confessed, "was achieved by maintaining the sweetness and integrity of the sweet potatoes by baking, not boiling, them in their jackets."
